July 2 - London 2012 has announced that the final horse inspection of the Olympic eventing competition will be open to the public just days after Hugh Thomas, one of the most senior figures in equestrian sport and godfather to the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips, resigned from his technical role over the issue.
