Speaking at the opening of the International Ice Climbing Competition in Shahdag, Azer Aliyev, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, said Azerbaijan has been at the forefront of many major events in recent years.

The Eurasian country has announced a significant number of international events for 2024, proving that Paris will not be the only sporting destination with the Olympic Games kicking off in July.

The first international competition of the year will take place in Croatia from10-15 January, and Azerbaijan already has its 28 athletes ready to represent the country in wrestling.

The National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan held its "Olympic Night" dedicated to the sports results of the year.  Prominent state and government officials, leaders of sports organizations, federations, media, Olympic champions, and representatives of the sports community attended the event in the capital, Baku.

On the initiative of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and under the joint partnership of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the European Olympic Committees (EOC), the 3rd Regional Workshop on Digital Communication and Social Media was held in Lausanne on 14 December.

Between the 5th to 8th and 11th to 13th of December, Sports Management courses were conducted for students in the morning groups of the State Academy of Physical Education and Sports of Azerbaijan.
