FIBA has confirmed that Hangzhou, the capital of China's Zhejiang province, will host the fifth edition of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Women's Series Final on 7-8 September 2024. The flagship event of the women's professional circuit will mark China's debut as host.

Known for its blend of historic charm and modern culture, Hangzhou is no stranger to hosting major sporting events, having successfully hosted the 2023 Asian Games. With its experience and facilities, the city will provide the perfect setting for the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Final, making it a landmark event for players and fans alike.

Launched in 2019, the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series represents the highest level of women's professional 3x3 basketball. Previous champions include France (2019), Germany (2021) and Canada (2022 and 2023).

"The selection of Hangzhou as the host city for the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Final is a significant milestone that underscores our commitment to growing the women's game and increasing its global visibility," said Alex Sanchez, Managing Director of FIBA 3x3. "With its proven ability to host major international sporting events, Hangzhou provides the perfect backdrop for the pinnacle of women's 3x3 basketball," he added.

The tournament will feature the top seven teams from the Women's Series regular season and host nation China competing for the championship title. With a total of 20 events this season and over $1.4 million in prize money, the Women's Series is set to reach unprecedented heights.

The season kicked off in April in Springfield, USA, marking the first Women's Series event on American soil since the competition's launch in 2019. Defending champions, Canada, who won the title at the inaugural event in Springfield, will be looking to make it three in a row after winning the last two finals.
