The International Sambo Federation (FIAS) has invited sambists to join a webinar at the end of August to help them abide by doping protocols.

Athletes are required to advise the doping authorities of their location, so that tests may be carried out by officials

"Research has shown that fulfilling 'whereabouts' responsibilities can be a source of anxiety for athletes who are in a testing pool," the FIAS said in a message.

The webinar entitled "Whereabouts, A practical guide for athletes" promises "practical guidance" and is to be conducted by the International Testing Agency (ITA).

ITA athlete support officer Kate Hovrjaka will provide information during the webinar and is expected to "present case scenarios based on common situations faced by athletes and provide practical guidance".

Serbian kayaker Kristina Bedocs, a three-time European champion is to share her experiences of the doping test procedures during the session.

"We are delighted to be joined by Kristina who has been included in a testing pool for many years.

"Krisztina will share her first-hand experience and tips for other athletes."

It is set to be the sixth webinar in a series which has already covered other aspects of doping control including medication, substances on the banned list and therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs).

The sessions are to be chaired by ITA education officer Armando Urban.

Although the webinars will be in English, simultaneous translation into Arabic, Spanish, French, Russian and Mandarin Chinese is to be provided.

The webinar is scheduled for 2:00pm CEST on August 30 and participants are asked to register beforehand.
