The Spanish gymnast had finished second in qualification behind Russian Gymnastics Federation’s Roman Semenov yesterday at the National Gymnastics Arena in Azerbaijan’s capital city.

Mane began the final with a lower difficulty than his rival, with the 18-year-old having a score of 4.000 to Semenov’s 4.600.

The deficit was made up with an artistic score of 9.450 and execution of 8.900, giving Mane a winning total of 22.350.

Semenov finished with artistic and execution scores of 9.050 and 8.550, which saw him finish as the runner-up on 22.200.

Brazil’s Lucas Barbosa completed the podium places, winning bronze on 22.150.

Italy’s Michela Castoldi and Davide Donati triumphed in the mixed pairs event for the third consecutive World Championships.

The duo topped the standings on 22.400 at their final World Championships before retirement.

Hungary’s Fanni Mazacs and Daniel Bali were runners-up on 22.100, with the Russian Gymnastics Federation’s Tatyana Konakova and Grigorii Sheikhaleev third with 22.050.

Romania were crowned as group winners with Gabriel Bocser, Teodora Cucu, Daniel Tavoc, David Gavrilovici and Mihai Alin Popa triumphing on 22.583.

Hungary’s team finished as the silver medallists narrowly on 22.516, while Italy secured bronze with 22.100.

Hosts Azerbaijan rounded off the World Championships with a title, as their team won the aerobic dance event.

Azerbaijan scored 18.400 in the final.

Russian Gymnastics Federation and Hungary completed the podium on 18.000 and 17.800, respectively.

Russian athletes were required to represent the Russian Gymnastics Federation at the World Championships, under the terms of the Court of Arbitration for Sport decision in the Russian Anti-Doping Agency case.
