World number one Mohamed El Shorbagy has been handed a tough draw at the Manchester Open as the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour returns next week.

The tournament, originally scheduled for May, will be held behind closed doors from September 16 to 22.

El Shorbagy heads a strong field that includes world number two Ali Farag, world number three Karim Abdel Gawad and world champion Tarek Momen.

The Egyptian will begin the competition against Germany's Raphael Kandra with a possible second-round clash with Colombia's Miguel Rodriguez who faces Pakistan's Tayyab Aslam in round one.

El Shorbagy's side of the draw also features compatriot Momen, New Zealand's Paul Coll and Peru's Diego Elias who are rankled number four, five and six in the world respectively.

At the opposite end of the draw, Farag will tackle Scotland's Greg Lobban with fellow Egyptians Gawad and Marwan El Shorbagy potentially lying in wait along with Wales' Joel Makin who will meet France's Victor Crouin on the opening day of action.

The women's draw is led by France's world number three Camille Serme and includes defending champion Joelle King of New Zealand.

Serme will begin her tournament against United States' Sabrina Sobhy and could face Egypt's world number six Hania El Hammamy in the semi-finals, should the draw go to seeding.

Title-holder King, who defeated Wales' Tesni Evans in last year's final, will begin her title defence against Latvia's Ineta Mackevica.

At the opposite end of the draw, Egypt's world number four Nour El Tayeb will come up against England's Jasmine Hutton in round one, while home favourite Sarah-Jane Perry will take on Scotland's Lisa Aitken at the National Squash Centre.

Last year's runner-up Evans will meet Egypt's Zeina Mickawy.

Meanwhile, Egyptian duo Farag and Nour El Sherbini will head the field at the CIB PSA World Tour Finals held at Cairo's Mall of Arabia from September 28 to October 3.

Farag finished second on the men's Road to Egypt Standings, but will be the top seed for the men's event after leader Mohamed El Shorbagy chose not to take up his qualification spot due to personal reasons, according to the PSA.

Farag will be joined in Cairo by Momen, Coll, defending champion Karim Abdel Gawad, Marwan El Shorbagy, Elias and Makin.

Meanwhile, Germany's Simon Rösner comes into the draw as a result of Mohamed El Shorbagy's absence.

Former world number one Raneem El Welily came second in the women's Road to Egypt Standings, but will not line up in Cairo following her retirement from the sport this summer.

That means China Open winner Nour El Tayeb moves up to second behind Nour El Sherbini and is followed by new world number one Nouran Gohar.

Tournament of Champions winner Camille Serme, Black Ball Open champion El Hammamy, England's Perry, USA's Amanda Sobhy and New Zealand's King make up the rest of the women’s draw.
