They defeated Democratic Republic of Congo 25-19, 25-14, 25-15 to keep alive their slim hopes of progression.
Unbeaten Kenya beat Tunisia 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 in the final match of the day.
Kenya are the three-time defending champions and heavy favourites to successfully defend their crown.
They have already sealed a spot in the semi-finals.
