Kerri gold! Walsh notches up record 39th medal in Phuket beach volleyball final
November 7 - Beach volleyball star Kerri Walsh (pictured) notched up an all-time record 39 gold medals in the SWATCH FIVB World Tour when she clinched victory with partner Nicole Branagh in the $190,000 (£119,000) Phuket Thailand Open.

August 19 - Support for two of Britain's volleyball teams preparing for the London 2012 Olympics has been axed because of lack of funding, it was announced today.
