October 5 - With eleven months to go until the host-city of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games is chosen, the Japanese candidate has unveiled its sixth official bid partner.
All Nippon Airways (ANA), one of the largest carriers in the Asia-Pacific region, joins ASICS, Descente, JTB, Mizuno and Kinki Nippon Tourist as sponsor of the Tokyo 2020 bid.
Tsunekazu Takeda, President of Tokyo 2020 and recently-elected International Olympic Committee (IOC) member, said the announcement was "further demonstration of the passionate support that Tokyo 2020 is receiving from all levels of Japanese society, including significant backing from a wide range of Japanese businesses".
ANA is already the official airline partner of the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) and a sponsor of Ai Fukuhara the Japanese table tennis player.
The IOC is to choose the 2020 host-city on September 7 2013 at its 125th Session in Buenos Aires.
Istanbul and Madrid are the other candidates.
