The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has updated the entry list for the 2016 Wheelchair Doubles Masters, following the withdrawal of Paralympic champions Jiske Griffioen and Aniek van Koot.

The prestigious event will be held for the fourth successive year at the Marguerite Tennis Paviliion in Mission Viejo, California, from November 2 to 6.

The tournament invites the top eight men's and women's doubles pairings, as well as the top four men's quad duos.

Dutch combination Griffioen and van Koot won the women's doubles at the Masters last year, but as they have now withdrawn from the tournament a new partnership will be crowned champions.

The combination of Dutch Rio 2016 silver medallist Diede de Groot and British bronze medallist Lucy Shuker have now been promoted to top seeds in the women's doubles event.

Colombia’s Angelica Bernal and Chile’s Francisca Mardobes will replace Griffioen and van Koot.

Elsewhere, in the men's doubles, Italian duo Massimiliano Banci and Silviu Culea will replace another all-Dutch pairing, Tom Egberink and Maikel Scheffers, after they also withdrew.

France’s Paralympic gold medallists Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer are the favourites to win the men's doubles tournament, however, the defending champions, Michael Jeremiasz of France and Gordon Reid of Great Britain, are also expected to challenge once again.

American Rio 2016 silver medallists and three-time Paralympic champions Nick Taylor and David Wagner lead the entries for the quad doubles.

Paralympic champions Dylan Alcott and Heath Davidson of Australia are not among the entries.

The field was originally decided after the ITF's ranking cut-off point of September 26.

Mission Viejo is hosting for the fourth successive year.
