A mixed doubles curling camp will be held in Budapest in Hungary to help countries prepare for when the discipline makes its debut on the Olympic programme at Pyeongchang 2018.

The abbreviated version of the game is played with just one male and one female athlete, as opposed to traditional curling when there are four competitors.

The inclusion of mixed doubles at Pyeognchang 2018 will see curling played everyday of the 17-day Games.

It means, that for the first time, three Olympic gold medals will be available - mixed doubles, men's team and women's team.

A total of eight countries will qualify for Pyeongchang 2018.

The mixed doubles curling camp, due to take place between December 1 and 4, is being run to help develop international teams in this new discipline by addressing different aspects of the game, such as sweeping, release, communication, team dynamics and strategy.

Spain also won its first ever curling medal – a bronze medal at the 2014 World Championships in Dumfries in Scotland.

In the nine-year history of the Championships, 13 different countries have made it onto the podium.
