China have won the latest International Basketball Federation 3x3 Women’s Series event with a 21-11 win in the final over Chinese commercial side Sichuan (SC) Yuanda in Baoding.

It was the third tournament win of the season for China, who fielded a much changed team after losing at the quarter final stage in Clermont Ferrand a week ago.

In the group stages, China opened proceedings with a 16-13 victory over the Czech Republic.

They lost to SC Yuanda 20-18 in overtime, but sealed their place in the knockout stages with a 20-19 victory over Mongolia also in overtime.

In the quarter-finals they swept Malaysia aside 22-4.

In the last four China won 16-12 against Japan.

SC Yuanda defeated Germany 21-12 in the other semi final. 

In the final, Ming Zheng scored eight points as China drew away to beat SC Yuanda 21-11.

Mingling Chen, who scored 10 points in the tournament, was named Most Valuable Player.

In the overall FIBA Women's 3x3 Tour standings, China lead the way with 350 points.

SC Yuanda are second with 245 points and Germany in third on 198.

Each of the top three sides have taken part in four of the five competitions so far.

The next stop on the  women’s circuit is due to be next Friday and Saturday (June 23 and 24) in Orléans in France.

Competition is scheduled to continue until the end of the regular season in Montreal on September 2 and 3. 

The Series final is set for Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia on September 16 and 17.
