China recorded their second successive International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Women's Series victory with a 21-15 win over Egypt in the final of the second leg of the season in Astara in Azerbaijan.

Lili Wang, selected as most valuable player for the second tournament in a row, scored nine points in the final.

Her team mate Ji Yuan Wan scored seven, including the free throw which sealed victory over an Egypt side making their tournament debut.

China had lost their opening group match 14-13 against Austria, but recovered with a 21-10 win over Czech Republic.

In the quarter-finals the Chinese beat local Azeri club side Neftchi 21-6.

China sealed their place in the final after a very close 19-17 win over Ukraine, who had proved the surprise package of the tournament.

The Ukrainians had defeated top seeds Germany 15-14.

It meant the Germans were eliminated in the group stage after also losing 16-15 to Egypt.

China also won the first stop of the circuit on home soil in Wuhan, and lead the tour standings with 200 points.

Chinese club team Sichuan Yuanda are second in the overall rankings, but not all teams have played in both tournaments so far.

Teams will next contest the FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Vienna, which is set to begin on May 30 and continue until June 4.

The FIBA 3x3 Women's Series is scheduled to resume in the French town of Clermont-Ferrard on June 9.
