Russia won all three of their women’s matches at the 2017 World Flying Disc Federation World Championships of Beach Ultimate today in Royan.

Fresh from an opening day victory, Russia earned a 10-5 win over Germany in the first tie of the day at the Atlantic Ocean resort.

Russia then overcame Latvia 13-6, before beating the Czech Republic 13-3 to move to the top of the Pool B standings.

Switzerland lie in second position in the table, after earning 13-2 and 9-6 victories over Singapore and Germany respectively.

However, they suffered a narrow 10-9 loss to France.

Britain have an identical record to Switzerland, as they bounced back from an opening day defeat to beat Latvia, Singapore and France today.

The Pool A standings are led by the United States and Spain, with both teams unbeaten after their first four matches.

The US beat the United Arab Emirates 13-2 in their first match of the day, before overcoming Estonia 13-6.

Denmark would give them the toughest test of the day, but the US triumphed 10-9.

In the mixed team competition, Germany secured a 13-5 win over the Czech Republic and a 13-3 success against the fictional Currier Island team, which contains players from a wide range of countries.

Canada and The Philippines have recorded three straights wins to lead Pool B, while Sweden and the US boast the same record in Pool C.

Russia are the only team in Pool D with a 100 per cent record.
