It is due to be the 13th edition of the Games and the first time it has been hosted by Ghana, with more than 5,000 athletes expected to compete.

The newsletter features articles on preparations for the Games, with the first detailing the Ghanaian Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif's visit to the event's venues.

But, all of the stories are dated to last year with no current news on display. 

Ghana was due to host the African Games this year but its extreme debt and a dispute over marketing rights pushed the multi-sport event into 2024. 

Dates of March 8 to 23 next year have been set instead.

The country secured a $3 billion (£2.4 billion/€2.8 billion) loan package from the International Monetary Fund in May and many believe holding the African Games would be irresponsible in the current financial climate.

The first African Para Games were held in Accra last month, despite the severe economic crisis the country is currently facing.
