In the men’s semi-final the standings were topped by Brazil’s Luigi Cini, whose best score came as he recorded 90.01 in his second run.

Cini, the champion at the World Skateboarding Pro Tour event at San Juan in May, was the only skateboarder to pass the 90 point mark at The Spot Skatepark and one of three from his country to advance to the final.

The next three places were filled by American skateboarders with Gavin Bottger in second with 89.85.

Jagger Eaton was third with a score of 89.49, followed by his compatriot Tate Carew in fourth with 89.32.

The top eight advanced to the semi-finals with fifth going to Yuro Nagahara with 88.14.

The next two spots were filled by Brazilian skateboarders with Olympic silver medallist Pedro Barros sixth with 88.08 and Augusto Akio seventh on 87.59.

The last place in the men’s final went to Australian Keefer Wilson who scored 86.36.

In the women’s semi-final, Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Kokona Hiraki of Japan topped the standings, with the 15-year-old recording two runs with scores of more than 91 points.

Hiraki demonstrated an array of lip tricks and recorded a best score in run two of 91.48.

Hiraki’s compatriot and this year’s Asian Games champion Hinano Kusaki was second with a score of 88.19, with third place going to Raicca Ventura with 87.16.

Naia Laso of Spain finished fourth with 85.80, followed by two Americans - Ruby Lilley with 85.06, just in front of Minna Stess on 85.05.

Olympic champion Sakura Yosozumi of Japan qualified in seventh with 84.96, with the final line-up completed by Lilly Stoephasius of Germany on 84.76.

The men’s and women’s finals are due to take place tomorrow, with world titles up for grabs, as well as the chance for skateboarders to earn ranking points towards next year’s Paris 2024 Olympics available.
