The Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU) conducted a poomsae education programme in Lebanon earlier this month.

The event was organised with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, and the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation (LTF).

Participants who attend the programme for more than two days were presented with a certificate and a souvenir.

Poomsae movements and freestyle poomsae dominated the programme held at the Le Royal Hotel in Beirut.

It was a busy month for the taekwondo community in Lebanon.

The LTF hosted the General Assembly of the ATU this month along with an Executive Board meeting.

Lebanon also hosted an Asian Championship for cadets and juniors, followed by the fifth edition of the Beirut Open.

"These events took place in Lebanon in 13 consecutive days.

"This achievement could not be possible without Lebanon taekwondo community support and guidance, Board members, chairs and members of technical and managerial committees, volunteers, coaches, referees, national team athletes, national team trainers, security, media, partners, clubs and parents," a statement on LTF's Facebook page said.

"This is all your achievement, your hard work, we are all very proud of our homeland, of our community."

The General Assembly of the ATU was chaired by its President Kyu Seok Lee.

It saw Pakistan being awarded the Asian Open Taekwondo Championships.
