The International Chess Federation (FIDE) Women's World Championship Match is heading towards an exciting finish as Ju Wenjun and Lei Tingjie played out another draw.

With two games to go, the score reads 5:5 in Chongqing.

The ceremonial first moves today were made by Changshou District Political Consultative Conference chairman He Yilong and Fu Xianfen, National Outstanding Individual in Epidemic Prevention and Control.

Ju decided to opt the same game plan from game eight, starting with a 1.Nf3 in game 10.

However, her hopes for another defeat of Lei did not go according to plan when the tried and tested English Opening transitioned into Queen's gambit position.

But both sides were not able capitalise following the opening.

After a few exchanges in the middle game, the game was drawn following the 40th move.

"I feel with this I’m fine and maybe we’ll just see what she will play," Ju was quoted as saying by chess.com.

"The position is overall fine for both sides."

The FIDE Women's World Championship Match is set to continue on Friday (July 21) after a rest day tomorrow (July 20).

Tiebreaks will take place if the match remains tied after two more games.
