Three Mongolian athletes earned Para taekwondo golds at the World Taekwondo President's Cup Oceania in Brisbane.

It continued success for the Asian nation at the Morayfield Sport and Events Centre in the Australian city due to host the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics, after they also won two golds yesterday at the Oceania Para Taekwondo Open Championships.

Surenjav Ulambayar followed up yesterday's victory in the women's K44 under-52 kilograms category by triumphing 17-0 against Mexico's Jessica Garcia Quijano in the final today.

Four-time world champion Ganbatyn Bolor-Erdene did likewise in the men's K44 under-63kg, winning the final 7-0 against Kazakhstan's Baurzhan Kusherbayev.

Tyemirbyek Khaulyet added to Mongolia's success in Brisbane with a narrow 5-4 victory in the men's K44 under-58kg final against Spain's Joel Martin Villalobos.

Aruna of India was among the other winners at the World Taekwondo President's Cup Oceania, overcoming Brazil's Teresinha de Jesus Correia dos Santos 8-2 in the women's K44 under-47kg final.

Paralympic bronze medallist Li Yujie of China denied Denmark's Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Lisa Gjessing with an impressive 12-2 win in the women's K44 under-65kg final, and Spain's Dalia Santiago Moreno won in the women's K44 over-65kg category when opponent Veena Arora of India was disqualified in the final.

Claro Lopes de Oliveira of Brazil edged the men's K44 under-80kg final 2-0 against Mexico's Luis Mario Najera, Paralympic champion Juan Diego García López of Mexico triumphed at under-70kg 9-5 against Argentina's Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Juan Samorano, and Kazakhstan's Alisher Garipollayev was the other winner in a high-scoring men's over-80kg final 26-13 against Chikara Ito of Japan.

Para taekwondo made its Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020, and this year's World Championships are scheduled for September 21 to 24 in the Mexican city of Veracruz.
