China's Jingkun Liang was victorious in the men's singles while his compatriot Yidi Wang claimed the women's title as the 2023 World Table Tennis (WTT) Star Contender in Goa, India concluded.

Liang, who is ranked fourth in the world, defeated fellow Chinese player Lin Shidong by four games to two, by a scoreline of 11-6, 9-11, 10-12, 12-10, 12-10, 11-9, in the final to secure his fourth WTT title.

Shidong impressively reached the final despite being ranked 24th in the world.

Wang, who is also ranked fourth on the women's side, dominated her final opponent L-Ching Cheng of Chinese Taipei by four games to zero, winning 11-6, 11-6, 11-8, 11-4 against an opponent ranked number 31 in the world.

In the men's doubles, it was South Korean duo Jaehyun An and Seungmin Cho who won 3-1 against the number one seeds Shunsuke Togami and Yukiya Uda of Japan.

In the women's doubles, L-Ching Cheng came second once again alongside her compatriot Yu-Jhun Li, as the Japanese duo of Miwa Harimoto and Miyu Nagasaki eased past them 3-0.

South Korean duo of Jihee Jeon and Woojin Jang were successful against of Togami and Harimoto of Japan 3-1 to win the mixed doubles title.

The next WTT is scheduled to be the 2023 Singapore Smash, with competition due to take place from Tuesday (March 7) to March 19.
