It comes two months after the Host City Contract was signed to hold the Games on the popular tourist island.

Speaking at the G20 Summit in Bali, Oktohari, who was also at the the IESF World Championships here, reported good relations with the Menpora - otherwise known as the Minister of Youth and Sports - Zainudin Amali.

With that, the next step would be discussions and approval from Widodo, Indonesia's President since 2014, to move forward with plans to host the Games from August 5 to 12 2023.

"Since yesterday's socialisation at the G20, the Menpora promised that we will focus on ANOC World Beach Games," said Oktohari in a statement, according to Sport Detik.

"In the next stage, we will ask for the President's schedule to coordinate or direct us.

"Including all cross ministries and institutions as well as sports stakeholders, so that the ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023 can be implemented.

"We are still carrying out intensive communication. 

"We have also divided into several sub-work systems that must be carried out. 

"This is not the first activity for all of us, so God willing, Indonesia can provide the best."

He added that with Indonesia considering a bid for the 2036 Olympic Games too, the world was watching what the country could do at future competitions.

There are to be approximately 1,500 athletes at the World Beach Games from more than 100 countries, across 14 sports.

It is to be the second edition of the Games after Doha held the inaugural one in 2019.
