On the fifth and final day of competition at the iconic Metropolitan Circus venue in the Romanian capital Poland’s men found themselves down 20-15 to Serbia.

They turned things around by finishing with a 6-0 run to which 6ft 5in (1.97m) Mateusz Szlachetka, later voted Most Valuable Player, contributed an ice-cool two-pointer.

Szlachetka contributed a team-high eight points in the final and finished second overall in scoring in the men's category with 53 points in seven games.

He was joined on the Team of the Tournament by men's top scorer Lorenzo Thirouard-Samson, who guided France to a bronze-medal finish, and Serbia's leading scorer Nikola Kovacevic.

Just three weeks after winning the FIBA 3x3 Nations League, France's women completed the double in the U23 category as they earned a 21-18 win over the United States in a tense final.

France's 5ft 10in (1.79m) Anna Ngo Ndjock was unstoppable, scoring 14 points, including four two-pointers and a tough drive and lefty lay-up for the win.

The rising French player starred on the Team of the Tournament, alongside tournament top scorer, the US prodigy Lexie Hull, who scored 63 points in seven games, and Julia Jorritsma, who led the Netherlands to bronze in a 21-18 win over China.
