Germany's Filus took on Chinese Taipei's Lin Yun-Ju, ranked 26 places higher than him, in Kazakhstan.

The odds were stacked against the 34-year-old and Lin looked to be heading towards a routine win and second singles title of the year in the men's event.

He burst into a three-game lead but Filus sensationally rallied back to win 7-11, 10-12, 7-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-5, 11-7 in the best-of-seven finale.

Japan's Hayata won her first women's singles trophy of the WTT Contender series since last September with a straightforward 4-1 win against Portugal's Fu Yu.

The world number six made the perfect start to the final but her 43-year-old opponent responded immediately to level the score.

Hayata did not let it affect her, however, and surged to three straight games which sealed the 11-8, 8-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-7 victory.

Hayata returned to action later in the day of finals to add another title to her name, this time in the women's doubles.

She joined forces with compatriot Miu Hirano and the pair dropped just one game on their way to the final.

The pair proved to be untouchable in the final as they eased to a commanding 3-0 victory over second seeds Choi Hyo-joo and Shin Yu-bin of South Korea 11-8, 11-5, 11-6.

After missing out on the singles title, Lin Yun-Ju ensured that he left the tournament on a high.

Combining with countryman Liao Cheng-Ting, they beat Sweden's Mattias Falck and Anton Kallberg after coming back from 2-0 down to win 7-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-1.

Lin then triumphed in the mixed doubles with Chen Zyu-Yu.

The duo beat China's Xu Haidong and Wu Yangchen 11-7, 11-13, 17-15, 7-11, 11-6 in a brilliant back-and-forth match-up.
