Defending champions Argentina and five-time winners Brazil are both safely through to the quarter-finals of the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Lithuania.

Argentina went behind against Paraguay in the round of 16, but rallied to win 6-1 and boasted six individual scorers.

They have now won all four of their matches at the tournament, with the aggregate score 23-4.

Brazil also have four wins from four, but were kept honest by Japan in the last 16.

Brazil won 4-2 and will next face Morocco, who saw off Venezuela 3-2 thanks to a Soufiane El Mesrar hat-trick.

A "neutral" Russian Football Union team, who squeezed past Vietnam 3-2, await Argentina.

Portugal beat Serbia 4-3 in extra time and will face Spain in an Iberian derby in the quarter-finals, following a 5-2 Spainish win over the Czechs.

Spain are two-time world champions, and another side yet to taste defeat at the World Cup.

Iran overcame Uzbekistan 9-8 in the pick of the last-16 results and are through to face the side who recorded the biggest win, Kazakhstan.

Group A winners Kazakhstan thrashed Thailand 7-0.

The quarter-finals will be played on Sunday and Monday (September 26 and 27).
