Panam Sports will introduce a digital streaming platform which will provide exclusive daily content from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

The platform will show sporting footage, athletes' interviews, behind-the-scenes content and memorable moments from previous Pan American Games.

It will go live on July 2 for the Pan American Flame Lighting Ceremony at the Teotihuacan Pyramids in Mexico.

Panam Sport's 41 member nations will be able to access the content, available on the organisation's website.

Peruvian television host Alexandra Hörler has been announced as the presenter of the platform.

She has previously worked with Fox Sports, TV Peru, Latina, América Televisión and DIRECTV Sports.

"I am very happy to join the Pan American Sports Organisation on this project," she said.

"Being the host of the Panam Sports Channel at the Pan American Games of Lima 2019 is a tremendous honour for me and, at the same time, a great challenge that I am taking with a lot of pride and respect.

"I'm passionate about my sports journalism career and of course, I absolutely love sports.

"That is why I welcome this new challenge in my career with great excitement and enthusiasm.

"As a Peruvian, I cannot wait until the start of this amazing event and I hope that you will be able to feel all of the passion that these Games bring as you watch through your screens, because at Lima 2019, let’s all play!”

Lima 2019 starts on July 26 and end on August 11.

More than 6,600 athletes are set to compete across 39 sports.
