Olympic champions Australia remain on course to regain the overall Women's World Rugby Sevens Series title after three group stage victories at the season-ending event in Paris.

The Rio 2016 champions entered the event at the Stade Jean Bouin in the French capital with just a four point lead over rivals New Zealand, the defending overall champions.

With 20 points available for a tournament victory there is all to play for but Australia, the 2016 winners, knew they had matters in their own hands.

They performed well in Pool B, beating Fiji 24-10, Russia 24-20 and Canada 31-14 to top the group en-route to the quarter finals.

Canada went through as runners-up with Fiji also progressing as one of two best third-place sides.
