World Skate vice-president Ricardo Grin has died ©World Skate

World Skate vice-president Ricardo Grin has died, it has been announced.

The Argentinian had been suffering from cancer.

Grin had been vice-president of World Skate since March 2017. 

"He has been a great vice-president who gave a fundamental support to the World Skate presence in the YOG (Summer Youth Olympic Summer Games) of Buenos Aires," World Skate President Sabatino Aracu said. 

"But, most of all, he was a true friend to me and I will miss his helpful advice, his warmth and the friendliness we used to have each other. 

"We will never forget you. 

"Grazie Ricardo."

Grin had been Argentinian sub-secretary of sports between 1992 and 1995 and President of the National Speed Committee of Confederación Argentina de Patín.

He had also been head of the Speed Technical Committee of the Panamerican Roller Sport Confederation, promoting the growth in the discipline.

Grin had also been vice-president of the Confederación Argentina de Patín, Director of the Argentinian CeNard - the National Centre of High Performance Athletics.

He has been buried in Buenos Aires.
