Hosts Australia ruled on the final day of the World Youth Bowls Championships at Broadbeach Bowls Club, which will host competition at next month's Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Aaron Teys was left celebrating a double victory as he followed up victory in the men's singles by combining with Ellen Ryan to take the mixed pairs title.

Teys defeated Ross Owen of Wales 21-12 to win his individual honour, and then contributed to a 20-5 win over Shae Wilson of Norfolk Island and Scotland's Ryan Burnett in the mixed pairs.

There was a home victory too in the women's singles final, where Kristina Krstic came through 21-13 against New Zealand's Katelyn Inch, regaining the title she won in 2015.

The Championships have been held at Broadbeach on every occasion since starting in 2014, and Krstic's win meant Australian women had taken the singles title on all but one year.

Canada's Pricilla Westlake was the 2017 winner.

Teys was the third home bowler to win the men's singles title following the efforts of Dylan Fisher, who took the inaugural honours in 2014, and 2017 winner Daniel Salmon.
