An alternative neutral uniform for Russian fans who want to support their team at this year's Winter Olympic Games has been created.

Russian branding agency DDVB has come up with the idea of making a line of tee-shirts, hats and bags after the decision to ban the country from Pyeongchang 2018 following allegations of systematic manipulation of doping samples at Sochi four years ago.

Athletes from the country must compete under the banner of "Olympic Athletes from Russia" - OAR.

They will march under the Olympic flag and the Olympic anthem will be used if they win any gold medals.

Last month, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) released a set of requirements for neutral uniforms, warning that no indication of Russian national symbols or colours must be used.

It also noted that the word "Russia" should be the same size as the words "Olympic Athlete from", and that all national emblems, including the flag and coat of arms, must be replaced with the neutral "OAR" logo.

Russian fans will not be banned from taking their country's flags into venues at at Pyeongchang 2018 but athletes have been warned they must not accept one if they do a lap of honour or display it on the medal podium.

The new collection from DDVB is called "Moar than OAR" and contains no indication of Russia, RT reported.

"As people who are concerned about our Olympians’ destiny, we couldn’t ignore the doping scandal surrounding the national team, as well as Russia’s disqualification from the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang," DDVB said in a statement on their Facebook page.

"In response to the unfair decision, our team has created Olympic collection of prints which fully meets all political requirements stipulated by the IOC.

"Our design collection is aimed at strengthening the spirit of our fans and athletes at the 2018 Winter Games."
