The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS) have held a meeting to discuss the final plans for the "German House" at Pyeongchang 2018.

The two organisations working with their official marketing agency Deutsche Sport Marketing on the project, with the Birch Hill Golf Club set to be the location of the venue.

It is based in the mountains above Pyeongchang and is nearby to the Alpensia Ski Jumping Stadium.

With a short distance to the Olympic and Paralympic Village in the Alpensia resort, both organisations claim the House is ideally placed to be at the centre of the Games.

"This proximity is an absolute value added - the best conditions to make the German House at the upcoming Winter Games to a lively and trendy meeting place in the heart of the Games," said DOSB chief executive Veronika Rücker.

"Here, all our athletes are celebrated, regardless of rankings, because every member of Team Germany has already done extraordinary things with his participation in the Games."

The final construction of the House will take place next week, with the venue due to open February 8 - the eve of the Opening Ceremony.

It is claimed the interior is down to earth and contemporary, as well as being equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

The House is billed as a party zone, communication centre and a media forum, with guests from the media, business, politics and society set to visit.

Eurosport will have a permanent studio in the venue, where they will record a live one-hour show every day throughout the Games.

Olympic gymnastics champion Fabian Hambüchen and presenter Sascha Kalupke will host the programme.

As for Rio 2016, the DOSB and the partners of Team Germany will use the German House to generate content for different formats and channels.

This will be aimed at providing fans with up-to-date information around the clock.

Around 350 guests are expected to visit on a daily basis throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

During the Winter Paralympics, Germany will share the House with Austria and Switzerland.

"At the Birch Hill Golf Club, we have a very flexible and generous area that we can play on," said DBS President Friedhelm Julius Beucher.

"Why should not we do this together with neighbouring nations with whom we are connected not only by the country border.

"We are convinced that this cooperation adds value to all involved and that the concept reflects the openness that the Paralympic idea and our team stand for."
