United States’ Kiley McKinnon earned her first career victory at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Aerials World Cup in Moscow.

The 22-year-old successfully reached the 12 athlete final at the city centre complex in the Russian capital city, with six skiers set to secure a second jump.

The American achieved a score of 80.64 points with her first jump of the event, which proved just enough to take her through to the next round in sixth place.

McKinnon was able to better her effort with her final jump, achieving a total of 95.52 pts to finish top of the standings.

She was followed by Belarus’ Aliaksandra Ramanouskaya, who finished as the silver medallist on 84.48 pts.

The podium was completed by Alexandra Orlova, with the Russian completing the podium on 80.33 pts.

There was success for Anton Kushnir in the men’s competition, with the top six completed entirely by Belarusian and Russian athletes.

Belarus would go on to claim the gold, as Kushnir finished on a tally of 126.55 points in the final.

Ilia Burov followed for the host nation, narrowly missing out on the gold medal by scoring a total of 125.79 pts.

The Russian was followed by his compatriot Stanislav Nikitin, who ended on 119.91 pts.
