In today’s women’s event, Sweden’s Sandra Naeslund prevailed to claim her third victory of the season and regain her place at the top of the World Cup standings.

The 21-year-old’s third-place finish in yesterday’s event saw her drop below winner Heidi Zacher of Germany in the rankings.

But she got back to winning ways today thanks to success in the big final and returned to the summit.

France's Marielle Berger Sabbatel finished second, while Canada's Georgia Simmerling came third.

Switzerland's Fanny Smith ended up in fourth place with Zacher fifth.

Naeslund heads the Ski Cross World Cup standings with 420 points - 35 more than nearest challenger Zacher.

Simmerling is a further 130 points off the pace in third.

The next leg of the Ski Cross World Cup is scheduled to take place in Idre Fjäll in Sweden from January 12 to 14.
