Loupos won a thrilling men's competition on the final day of action in the Hungarian capital as his routine yielded a total of 88.80 points.

Daniel Dhers of Colombia was not far behind in second place as he scored 86.80, while the bronze medal went to Irek Rizaev of Russia.

The Russian athlete managed a total of 84.40 points to secure the final place on the podium.

BMX freestyle park was added to the Olympic programme at Tokyo 2020 in June.

The BMX Freestyle Park World Cup, an International Cycling Union sanctioned event, was among several competitions held as part of the FISE World Series leg in Budapest.

In the International Roller Sports Federation Roller Freestyle Park World Cup, France sealed a one-two in the men's event thanks to Romain Godenaire and Julien Cudot.

Godenaire took gold with a score of 95.16, while Cudot, the FISE roller world champion, was awarded 94.50 for his routine.

Tomek Przybylik of Poland did enough for bronze as he scored 92.49.

"We were happy to showcase some of the world’s best professional rollerbladers to Budapest and the level of skating on the course was incredible," head inline judge Mathieu Heinemann said.

Jean-William Prevost of Canada won the BMX flatland event ahead of Japanese rider Moto Sasaki, with bronze going to French legend Alex Jumelin.

"I felt like I knew what I had to do and stepped outside of myself, like my personal meditation," said Prevost.

"Training for this, I locked myself up all night and practised in the -40 degree winters in Canada so the movements weren’t stressful because I’ve done them millions of times before.”
