Los Angeles 2024 has marked Independence Day by highlighting its "Live Site" concept, which it claims would allow even more fans to enjoy the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Live Site concept is a feature of Los Angeles 2024’s Games Plan, which aims to enhance the traditional concept of a singular Olympic Park by offering Sports Parks in Downtown Los Angeles, the South Bay, the Valley and Long Beach.

In each of the four Sports Park, event venues and Live Sites would share resources in an attempt to ensure attendees can easily enjoy an Olympic festival atmosphere.

All Los Angeles 2024 Live Sites would feature big screens showing Games action as it happens, as well as Olympic and Paralympic sport showcases, marketing partner activations and numerous dining and retail options.

It is claimed the Bidding Committee’s "dynamic" ticketing model would give fans access to tickets in real-time if they become available, helping to make the Games as accessible as possible while maximising ticketing revenue and ensuring every athlete competes in front of full crowds.

"In honour of July 4, LA 2024 is highlighting our planned celebration sites for the Games," Los Angeles 2024 chief executive Gene Sykes said.

"LA 2024’s innovative Sports Park and Live Site model would create an unparalleled fan experience spread across our city, bringing the action closer to more of LA's great neighbourhoods.

"With the latest technology, unique cultural attractions and diverse dining options, LA 2024's celebration sites would allow even more Olympic and Paralympic fans to enjoy the Games."

Today’s emphasis on the fan experience is part of Los Angeles 2024’s #FollowTheSun to Olympic Agenda 2020 campaign; 20 activities in 20 days.

The campaign aims to show how Los Angeles 2024 would contribute to Olympic Agenda 2020, the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) strategic roadmap for the future of the Olympic Movement.

It is claimed providing Live Sites across the city would engage more Angelenos in the Games, aligning with Olympic Agenda 2020’s 23rd recommendation to engage with the general public.

Los Angeles 2024 completed their "virtual venue tour" in April by unveiling new images of their proposed Long Beach Sports Park.

The cluster of venues would stage handball, water polo, sailing, triathlon, Para-triathlon, marathon swimming and BMX events.

It would include two temporary venues - BMX and water polo - as well as the Long Beach Arena and the Long Beach Waterfront and Pier.

Los Angeles are competing against Paris to win the rights to host the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics.

Earlier this year, the IOC Executive Board approved plans to award the 2024 and 2028 editions of the Games at the same time.

The Candidate City Briefing on July 11 and 12 has now been elevated to the level of an Extraordinary IOC Session, with members expected to ratify the double award plan.

It is widely expected that Paris will be awarded the first of these, with Los Angeles staging the event four years later.

A final decision on which city will host the Games is due be made at the IOC Session in Lima on September 13.
