Qualification for the 2017 International Boxing Association (AIBA) World Championships is set to continue tomorrow when the AMBC American Confederation Championships begin in Honduras’ capital Tegucigalpa.

The event is scheduled to be spread across nine days with action concluding on June 18.

Places at the AIBA World Championships, due to be held in German city Hamburg from August 25 and September 3, will be up for grabs.

Preliminaries, quarter-finals and semi-finals will make up the first seven days of competition before two days of finals. 

The road to Hamburg begun in Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent, where the ASBC Asian Championships were held from April 30 to May 7.

The AMBC American Championships will be followed by the AFBC African Championships in the Republic of Congo's capital Brazzaville from June 17 to 25, re-scheduled from the original dates of May 27 to June 4.

The penultimate qualifier is the EUBC European Championships in Ukrainian city Kharkiv from June 16 to 24.

The final one is the OCBC Oceanian Championships in Australian city Gold Coast, hosts of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, from June 26 to 29.
