The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) hosted representatives from both the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Olympic Solidarity programme and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

A two-day visit saw discussions take place with the Olympic Solidarity Commission - which provides assistance to governing bodies - in relation to the 2013 to 2016 quadrennial.

NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, secretary general Lama Tendi Sherpa and members of the Board welcomed the delegation of Olympic Solidarity and OCA officials.

Members from National Federations and programmes, benefiting from Olympic Solidarity projects, were also in attendance.

Discussions were focused on a variety of areas, including the institutional, administration, political and social environment, finances and activities of the organisation.

It is claimed the visit will help to improve coordination between the OCA and Olympic Solidarity, as well as the assistance they provide.

The assertion is that it will also ensure NOCs fulfil their "duties" to the Olympic Movement.

The OCA and Olympic Solidarity claim to visit two National Olympic Committees per continent every year.

South Korea was the first country to be visited this year, with a delegation holding talks with the nation’s Olympic Committee in April.
