Canada’s Ryan Decenzo secured men’s skateboard street gold on the penultimate day of competition at the X Games in Austin.

The 29-year-old produced his best display on the second of three runs in the event, which saw the judges reward him with a points tally of 87.33.

Nyjah Huston had managed to score over 80 on his first two runs as he looked to defend his title in Austin and nearly snatched gold with his final effort.

The American skateboarder ended the competition just behind the winner on 87.00, with his compatriot Ishod Wair completing the podium places on 86.66.

Brazil’s Pamela Rosa earned the women’s skateboard street title by scoring 84.33 in her final run, with United States’ Mariah Duran taking silver on 78.00.

Fellow American Lacey Baker finished on 77.33 to secure the bronze.

There was Japanese success in the women’s skateboard park competition as Kisa Nakamura put a poor first run behind her to move to the top of the standings when he second effort scored 84.33.

The American duo of Lizzie Armanto and 17-year-old Jordyn Barratt completed the medal places after scoring 82.66 and 78.00 respectively.

Garrett Reynolds claimed the men’s BMX street title with his two best runs combining to give him a final score of 76.00.

An all-American top three was completed by Sean Ricany and Broc Raiford, with the duo finishing some way behind on 65.00 and 63.00.

The hosts’ success in BMX competition continued when Dennis Enarson scored 70.00 to win the BMX park gold.

Australia’s Logan Martin earned silver after receiving a finishing total of 64.00 from the judges, with his team-mate Kyle Baldock scoring 63.00 to earn the bronze.

The X Games will draw to a close in Austin tomorrow, with the Texan city hosting the competition for the third and final time, as US sports broadcaster ESPN seek to find another American city to stage the event in 2017 and 2018.
