SportScotland chair and SASCOC President appointed to spearhead Commonwealth sport development projects

June 18 - Louise Martin, chair of SportScotland, and Gideon Sam, President of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC), have been appointed by the Commonwealth Secretariat and Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) to spearhead two projects aimed at boosting sport's role as a tool for meeting development goals.

June 17 - Singapore's $1.3 billion (£812 million/€1 billion) Sports Hub currently under construction in the Southeast Asian island city-state will provide it with the capacity to bid for a host the Commonwealth Games in the near future, International Olympic Committee (IOC) vice-president Ng Ser Miang has claimed.
