Egypt qualified for the final of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Women’s Continental Cup after coming from behind at Jabi Lake Beach in Abuja to end hosts Nigeria’s hopes of securing Olympic qualification.

Despite losing the opening match of the best-of-three semi-final 15-21, 15-21, Egypt bounced back to beat the All-Africa Games gold medallists in both the second - 21-19, 19-21, 15-10 - and the decider - 21-12, 21-18.

Awaiting them in tomorrow’s final are Rwanda, who defeated London 2012 qualifiers Mauritius in two-straight matches by following up a 21-5, 21-11 victory with a 21-15, 21-9 win.

Egypt and Rwanda will compete for the African spot at Rio 2016 following the meeting between Mauritius and Nigeria for the bronze medal tomorrow.

Sierra Leone and Morocco, third-place finishers in Pool A and Pool B respectively, also met today with the former coming out on top in two-straight matches.

Namibia beat Gambia in the battle between the fourth-ranked teams, while Mozambique overcame fellow fifth-place finishers Ghana.
