The Itaquera Arena in São Paulo, which hosted the 2014 World Cup opener, has been confirmed as the seventh and final venue for the football tournament at next year’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Ticket provider Kingdom Sports Group are "thrilled" with the response one month after the opening of its sales window for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, with applications having surpassed those for London 2012 over the same period. 

Rio 2016 has approved CoSport as the Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR) in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the British Olympic Association (BOA) has announced.

Rio 2016 officials have taken responsibility for cleaning the Olympic and Paralympic sailing venue, while increasing pressure on State Government forces to improve their activity on the rest of Guanabara Bay.

A full competition schedule, including specific session times, has been released for next year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Rio 2016 have received 1.2 million ticket applications from Brazilian residents since sales began on March 31, it is claimed.
