German commercial team Düsseldorf ZOOS has won the Baku stop of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Women's Series by beating the German national team 15-14 in the final.

Their quartet of Jenny Crowder, Ama Degbeon and two Japanese stars Aoi Katsura and Yuka Maeda went unbeaten throughout the whole competition.

ZOOS had beaten beat France 13-11 in the first stage of the pool competition before coming through in a hard fought encounter to defeat Israel 11-10 to make the knockout stage.

They needed overtime to beat Lithuania 19-18 in the quarter-finals.

The team had a more convincing passage through the semi-finals with a 21-10 victory over the Czech Republic.

China still lead the overall standings with 998 points and hold a clear advantage over France on 660 points and the Azerbaijan commercial team Neftchi in third on 651.

Düsseldorf ZOOS are in 13th place on 308 points after their first victory of the season.

The next round of the series is in Debrecen, Hungary, on August 27, with only three stops to go before the final in Ulaanbaatar on September 16.
