China made up for the disappointing loss in Netanya by claiming the title at the tenth stop of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Women's Series season in Fribourg, Switzerland.

They defeated Portugal 14-10 in the final with Kun Huang finishing as the top scorer in the game with eight.

It was a balanced start to the game, with both teams attacking until 3-3.

China, however, raced to a 9-3 lead soon with Kun bagging a vital two points in that period.

Márcia da Costa, the top scorer for Portugal, helped to cut down the deficit but China proved to be too strong in the end.

It was the fourth title of the season for China, who is leading the standings with 610 points.

Earlier in the day, Portugal defeated Latvia 17-12 in the semi-finals while China eased past Sc. Yuanda 22-18.

Azerbaijan team Neftchi that won the title in the previous leg in Netanya, suffered a shock 18-15 loss against Portugal in the quarter-finals.

Despite the results, Sc. Yuanda has managed to be second overall with 426 points while Neftchi are on third with 333.

France, who won the Marseille leg last month could not add to their tally, bowing out by a narrow 15-14 loss against Sc. Yuanda.

France and Spain complete the top-five overall standings, with 303 and 220 points, respectively.

Pristina in Kosovo is set to host the next stop of the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series from July 14 to 15.
