Returning to the team, Guapo guided France to the final where she scored eight points and made eight rebounds in a 16-13 victory over China in the French city.

China were seeking a fifth FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series win and made a strong start, taking an early 3-1 lead.

France responded as they moved 6-4 ahead in a match that had many twists and turns.

Myriam Djekoundade and Guapo both made a big difference in defence as they thwarted the likes of Wang Lili and Zhang ZhiTing.

France managed to keep their nose in front as they held a slender 10-9 lead going into the final two minutes.

Guapo then came to the fore as she scored from range to give France a three-point advantage.

Djekoundade increased that lead with another score before Guapo added two more.

Hortense Limouzin then struck to make it 16-11 with just 50 seconds remaining.

China refused to give in as Zhang and Wang found that basket but a missed free throw from the latter ended hopes of a comeback.

It was France’s third victory in the series having triumphed in Marseille and Clermont-Ferrand and leaves them 205 points behind leaders China in the overall standings.

Düsseldorf ZOOS and Canada reached the semi-finals before being defeated by France and China, respectively.

Edmonton in Canada is due to stage the next leg on the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series on July 29 and 30.
