colin jackson_kris_akabusi_23-03-12March 31 - British Olympic medallists Kriss Akabusi (pictured right) and Colin Jackson (left) have been helping members of the public win tickets to this summer's Olympic and Paralympic Games here in London.

They joined Cadbury's to promote the latest game in the 'Spots v Stripes' campaign that the London 2012 treat partner is running.

Cadbury's are giving away 100 tickets by April through encouraging shoppers in some of the United Kingdom's biggest malls to take part in a simple game, where they have to stop a giant stopwatch at the 20.12 time to win a VIP package to the Games.

"To be giving tickets away by doing something really simple – it sounds easy and it has worked wonderfully well," Jackson, the former 110 metres hurdler who won two world titles, two Commonwealth Games crowns and three European Championships, as well as an Olympic silver medal, during a glittering career, told insidethegames.

"We're taking the Games to the general public.

"It's really great and I'm really pleased to be part of it.

"The [public] really want to do it and they will get a similarly gratifying feeling that any athlete will before they go to compete."

The Cadbury's Spots v Stripes campaign is trying to encourage the public to be more competitive in the build up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The public can pick a side, spots or stripes, and compete in a number of quick, simple games at www.spotsvstripes.com or at one of the venues where Cadbury's have set up a stand throughout the country.

Akabusi (pictured), a former 400m runner and 400m hurdler claimed three Olympic medals during his career and was also a world, Commonwealth and European champion.

He has been involved with Cadbury's Olympic and Paralympic campaigns since 2010, and told insidethegames: "It is quite exciting, Colin and I had a go and I was rubbish to be fair but there are tickets waiting.

"This is a lovely twist – are you going to be the one who can guess precisely what 20.12 seconds feels like, and if so, get yourself off to the Games?

"It's a great opportunity to be part and parcel of this beautiful pageant of festivities that is happening on our doorstep."
