Sushkevych is hoping to gather help from other National Paralympic Committees to force the ban of Russia and Belarus from the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Last month, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) stated that athletes from the two nations would be allowed to take part in the French capital under conditions of neutrality.

"We must focus all efforts on ensuring that the entire civilised Paralympic world does not allow the so-called neutrality procedure, which allows murderers, rapists and those who support murder and violence, to the Paralympics in Paris," Sushkevych said, as reported by Suspilne.

"We have combined the necessary quota of European countries, which requires the convening of an Extraordinary General Assembly of the European Paralympic Committee, at which issues related to the procedure for admitting Russia's neutrality should be worked out.

"And after Russia recognises that it influences the International Paralympic Committee, it is possible to convene the IPC General Assembly to decide on the removal of the Russian Paralympic Committee from participating in the Paralympics in Paris.

Sushkevych referred to Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) President Pavel Rozhkov's recent comments.

Rozhkov stated that "the initiatives and work of the Russian President [Vladimir Putin] with countries in Asia and Africa had a huge impact [on the IPC's decision]," as reported by Suspilne.

Sushkevych also claimed that his appeal to the EPC leadership to convene the Assembly has been signed by the NPCs of Latvia, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Poland, Georgia, Lithuania, Estonia, Great Britain and Sweden.

He also states that Latvia has offered to provide a venue, with the country's Government offering final help. 

Sushkevych is expecting for Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, and the United States' NPCs to join his position.

In addition to calling on Ukrainian President Volodmyr Zelenskyy to help, Sushkevych urged IPC leader Andrew Parsons to prevent the RPC from speaking with the Asian Paralympic Committee

"I demand that the IPC constitution be respected and that the RPC President not be allowed to communicate with other members of the international Paralympic community, in particular in the Asian region.

"Moreover, I very much hope that the IPC President himself will not have communication with the RPC leader, who is excluded from the international Paralympic family."
