France's public transport operator RATP is set to be supplied with new ticket vending machines (TVMs) by payment and ticketing company Flowbird in the build-up to the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics.

The transport company is owned by the state and includes services such as metro, suburban rail services, trams and buses.

Transport authority Île-de-France Mobilités has been working with the RATP to enhance the transportation services across Paris with large numbers of people expected to use it to travel to and from venues during Paris 2024.

There are due to be 100 new TVMs with Light-Emitting Diode colour touch screens and faster processing, according to Flowbird.

Flowbird will be manufacturing 20 TVMs per month in their factory in Besançon.

The Paris 2024 Olympics is set to run from July 26 to August 11 next year, with the Paralympics due to be held from August 28 to September 8.
