The Finnish city of Lahti has been confirmed to host the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) World Cup events in Nordic combined, cross-country, and ski jumping.

FIS race director and Olympic silver medal-winning ski jumper Lasse Ottesen led a snow control test at the competition sites and reported favourable conditions.

Low temperatures are expected for the events scheduled for this month which means they can go ahead as planned.

"With the positive snow control we can look forward to an exciting Nordic World Cup weekend and are especially excited to celebrate the season finale of our men in Lahti for the first time," said Ottesen, who podiumed at Lillehammer 1994.

A total of 10 competitions across the three World Cups are scheduled to take place from March 24 to 26.

The finals for men's Nordic combined, women's ski jumping, and women's cross-country are among those set for the venue.

Lahti is the only city to host the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships seven times, doing so in 1926, 1938, 1958, 1978, 1989, 2001 and 2017.

In the Ski Jumping World Cup it has hosted 61 men's individual events and 22 men's team events but just one women's event.

It has also been on the Cross-Country World Cup calendar since 1982, featuring every year except for 1988, 2001, 2006, and 2017.
