The Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games infrastructure company has released a video, showing what the new Cortina Sliding Centre could look like once it is built.

Following the approval by the Cortina d'Ampezzo Town Council to demolish the Eugenio Monti sliding track, the new facility was given the go-ahead for planning.

Eugenio Monti Olympic Track, named after the great Italian bobsledder of the same name, closed in 2008.

The promotional clip shows the Dolomites and past footage of the Cortina d'Ampezzo 1956 Games, as well as what looks to be a map of the run, which keeps most of the old features from Eugenio Monti Olympic Track.

Throughout the video, words pop up on the screen such as "Technology", "Design", "Sustainability" and "Future".

The video ends with the "Faster, Higher, Stronger - Together", the motto of the International Olympic Committee.

A final project is to be presented on January 18 for approval from all stakeholders, under the guidance of Infrastrutture Milano Cortina 2026 President Luigivalerio Sant'Andrea.

It is expected that a new track is to cost approximately €80 million (£68.4 million/$83.9 million), nearly double the original price of €41.7 million (£35.7 million/$43.8 million).

The Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics are scheduled to take place from February 6 to 22 2026, followed by the Paralympics from March 6 to 15.
