PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile joins Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, eFootball 2023, and Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) 2 in Turkey's largest city.

The latter trio also featured in the inaugural Games last year in Singapore.

More than 300 athletes from 65 nations and territories are set to descend upon the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti in a bid to win the titles on offer.

Competition is scheduled to run on December 16 and 17 with semi-finals taking place initially before finals on the last day which are due to be held in a 1,500-seat custom-built arena.

Bookending all the gaming action will be Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

Prior to the tournaments, GEFcon - named after organisers, the Global Esports Federation (GEF) - is due to take place.

It is described as "the GEF's global convention of thought leaders and will feature more than 30 speakers from varying fields including esports, entertainment, technology, design, business, athletes and academia.

Panel sessions on "global esports landscape", "esports and sports: a focus on Turkey and the region", and "unlocking the limitless potential for youth and the creative economy" are all on the agenda.

The event is designed to promote the exchange of ideas and to share perspectives across a series of keynote speeches.

It will be moderated by LJ Rich and Mustafa Özben.

Rich is a BBC presenter and host of the United Nations Artificial Intelligence for Good Summit while Özben has hosted broadcasts at multiple Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Fans will be able to watch the Games with play being livestreamed in English on the GEF's Twitch and YouTube channels and in Turkish on Spor Istanbul's channels on the same platforms.

The Games are taking place shortly after the International Esports Federation (IESF) staged its rival World Championships in Bali, Indonesia.
