 Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) President Habu Gumel has called for more participants as he opened the latest module of an Advanced Sport Management Course in Lagos.

It is the sixth time that the course has been held in Nigeria.

It was promoted in conjunction with the International Olympic Committee agency Olympic Solidarity, and is designed "to equip sports administrators with the technical know how of the latest administrative structures that can deliver the support needed by the athletes, administrators and all relevant stakeholders."

The NOC added they hoped the course would also "bring about change and improvement in their sports organisations."

The course requires delegates to attend nine days of residential courses with a further six of distance learning within a period of twelve months.

This week’s event was the third module of the course for 2022 and follows a three day event held in Lagos last month.

Gumel paid tribute to the "quality and importance" of the course which has been held in Nigeria for the sixth time.
